Hobbit Dwarfs!

Here are the first images of Dori (Mark Hadlow), Nori (Jed Brophy), Ori (Adam Brown), Gloin (Peter Hamilton), & Oin (John Callen).  I like Peter Jackson's LOTR films just fine and I'm a little more than excited for his new Hobbit movie, but I'm definitely not as rabid for it as some dorks seem to be.  These images are nifty, but I can't get too excited until I see a trailer which I'm guessing is a long way off.

Evangeline Lilly Cast In The Hobbit

We don't really post about casting news here on ITMOD and I'm not even really that excited for this new Hobbit film (this may be Dork Blasphemy, but I think the LOTR films are pretty darn good but I'm not in love with them like most), but I am a huge LOST fan and I am excited to see some friendly LOST faces popping up in major entertainment that's not Real Steel and Hawaii Five-O.

On his Facebook page, Peter Jackson states that Lilly will be playing "a new character—the Woodland Elf, Tauriel. Her name means 'daughter of Mirkwood' and, beyond that, we must leave you guessing! (No, there is no romantic connection to Legolas.) What is not a secret is how talented and compelling an actress Evangeline is; we are thrilled and excited she will be the one to bring our first true Sylvan Elf to life."
