Hellboy In Hell in 2012

As Bleeding Cool states, Hellboy In Hell has been a long time coming.  Look for my next Week(s) In Dork for a more in-depth discussion of the latest Mignola mini, The Fury, but for now lets just bask in the Epic Potential of the art above.  And yeah, Mignola is back on art duties.  That right there makes Hellboy In Hell the most anticipated comic (maybe pop culture event) of next year.  Can't get here quick enough.

Dork Art: Hellboy & Friends!

Finally finished reading the first issue of the latest Hellboy mini-series, The Fury and it has me jazzed for all things Mignola.  Started trolling Dark Horse Comics and discovered some really great art for the upcoming Hellboy/BPRD trades and single issues.  Love, love, love the above Francesco Francavilla cover for the Abe Sapien mini-series The Devil Does Not Jest penned by Mignola with James Harren interiors.  But check out this other great stuff.

Hellboy vs Frankenstein's Monster!

Just spotted this over at the crazy Frankenteinia blog, the plot for the original graphic novel Hellboy: House of the Living Dead has been revealed!  DarkHorse.com has this to say, "Devastated over the loss of his luchador comrade to vampires, Hellboy lingers in Mexican bars until he's invited to participate in the ultimate wrestling match with a vicious Frankenstein monster!"  It's going to be a short graphic novel, just 56 pages with a cover by Mignola and interiors by frequent collaborator Richard Corben.  Gonna run ya $14.99 and will be out November 9th of this year.  Can't wait.

Dork Art: Hellboy Library Edition #4 Preview

The Art of Mike Mignola recently posted this preview art for the upcoming Hellboy Library Edition Volume 4, which will contain the trades for The Crooked Man and The Troll Witch.  Basically, it's gonna be a whole lotta Hellboy short story action and I cannot wait to get my grubby little hands on it come July 19th!  

Also discovered on the website is the below cover art for Mike Mignola and Christopher Golden's new illustrated novel, Joe Golem and the Drowning City.  I absolutely loved their last collaboration, Baltimore or The Steadfast Tin Solider and The Vampire.  If this is half as good as that then it will be absolutely bloody brilliant 

Dork Art: Mario Boy

Thanks to Geek Art.net for unveiling this little bit of brilliant geek mashup, Super Mario done in the style of Mike Mignola's Hellboy.  I seriously need a print of this to hang on the apartment wall.  Unfortunately, the artist is unknown, so if anyone out there in Internetland has a clue who this mad genius is please let us know.
