We here at In the Mouth of Dorkness are sad to learn of the passing of the artist Jeffry Jones. His paintings graced many book covers during the sort of golden age of fantasy art (late 60s through early 80s) alongside
Frazetta,
Krenkel, and early (good)
Boris. His work had a timelessness that was impressive.
Though he moved away from fantasy art, he left a beautiful legacy of images. For some more of his beautiful artwork, check out our friends at
Golden Age Comic Book Stories or visit his
site.
